Life can be thrilling and it can be fun; it can also be painful, lonely, or confusing. My practice is grounded in the belief that we each have within us the capacity to understand and to accept things that we can't change, to identify things we can, and to make the most of what we have.

Person-centred therapy is based on a fundamental truth: we are the experts on ourselves. There are times when we lose sight of that, and need to reconnect with the self. It's not always a straightforward route. My job is to walk along that path with you, and to help you rediscover and accept yourself, in order that you can grow and change.

By being open to you and whatever you bring to counselling, I can help you find time and space to examine who you are and how you fit in with the world around you. By building an honest, non-judgemental and accepting relationship we can shine light into the darkest corners, in which you'll find resilience, courage, and wisdom.

“It is the relationship that heals.”
Irvin Yalom

At the heart of person-centred therapy is the relationship between counsellor and client. It is through genuine connection — not technique — that real change becomes possible.

“The curious paradox is that when I accept myself just as I am, then I can change.”
Carl Rogers

Person-centred therapy is grounded in this truth. We are the experts on ourselves — my role is to walk alongside you as you rediscover and accept who you are.

“Between stimulus and response, there is a space. In that space is our power to choose our response. In our response lies our growth and our freedom.”
Viktor Frankl

We can’t always choose how things go. But learning to manage our response to life’s challenges is a skill that can be developed — and counselling can help with that process.

“The world will ask you who you are, and if you don’t know, the world will tell you.”
Carl Jung

From birth we are confronted by the influence of others. Counselling can help you identify where those influences have obscured the real you, and to begin freeing yourself.

“And so we came forth, and once again beheld the stars.”
Dante

Humans are incredibly resilient. The darkest times will always pass. Sometimes we need support to keep moving — I will take the time and care that you need.
